Are they ever happy? According to my wife, nothing was said about the actual hold-backs, but her mother did ask her, "So who has a son-in-law like mine?" With mother-in-laws, you takes what you gets.

To all I will mention that I started life as a gentile, born and bred in a smaller Canadian town. Thirty-odd years later, I live in the big city and I am married to a Hungarian Jew. While I acclimatized to the big city rather quickly, I am still trying to get a handle on the culture shock that is my wife and her family. That said, I would leave the big city in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't think of doing it without her. My grandmother kept her 3 kids alive by herself in Hungary during those years, she landed in the Bronx after the war and was about 4 foot nothing as well, and even when I was a kid, I knew she was the toughest person in the room where ever we were! I remember her(she wold have been pushing 70 at the time) holding a dining room chair straight out and upright at arms length by one of the feet!
You are a mensch for fixing the drapes.

Michael AckermanMichael Ackermannoreply@blogger.com
